As a work-at-home mother of two, I like yoga pants. Throw a pair of yoga pants on with some layered tank tops and tennis shoes, and you have my go-to grocery store/pre-school pickup/post office/Target run outfit of choice. But now that I'm getting out of what I like to call "survival mode" after having my second daughter 8 months ago, I'm ready to start having fun with my wardrobe again. I genuinely feel better about myself when I take the time to shower and dress in something bright and flattering. I mean, really, though... with 2 kids, do you think I have time to shop for myself? Let's be real.

My trip to try on clothes for the shoot was my first time to Single Thread Boutique. My sales associate/stylist (Lauren!) made it so easy and fun for me to try on clothes. She was there for moral support (postpartum baby body and all) and offered to get alternate sizes for me. With the full-length mirror, it was easy for me to see how the clothes would look from behind and bending down, which I tend to do a bunch with littles.

With Mother's Day right around the corner, I inevitably think about what to get my own mom, who is THE hardest person to shop for btw! Even though my elder daughter, Lily Claire, is turning 5 this year, I'm still not used to being the one who is honored on this very important day. Whether you're headed to church or a family gathering of some sort on Sunday, May 10, we wanted to put together a couple effortless looks for you moms whose children will know it's a special occasion just by the fact you're getting dressed!

What I love about this combo is how comfortable it is!! It has sleeves that can be pushed up my arms or pulled down over my wrists. If you're thinking I'm crazy for wearing the white leggings with kids (I feel you cringing on the other side of that screen!), you can always swap those for a darker pair of leggings or even some skinny jeans. I really love the criss-cross detail on the back of this top. Consider using an adhesive bra or bandeau top so that you'll feel supported without your bra interfering.

I absolutely adore the color of this tunic dress for spring and summer, and the lace detail on the sleeves is too sweet. This is the perfect combination of comfort and style. Just add leggings if you're worried about the length and want a little more coverage.

I'm so grateful I have a new go-to boutique! Even with all our #momsuperpowers, we can't do everything when we're running on empty. It's important to remember that when you're taking care of yourself, you're taking care of your family, too. Make your Mother's Day gift to yourself a priority this month. Get your nails done. Take a nap. Read a book. Schedule that hair appointment. Do a little something for yourself that makes you feel like you again. You won't regret it.

And if you're reading this post and need a quick last-minute gift for an upcoming occasion, consider purchasing a Single Thread Boutique gift card for your intended recipient. You never have to wonder if it fits!
