Would You Pass the Glass?

Oh, coffee.  You can get the best of us.  Whether you are someone who drinks coffee once in a blue moon (like me) or is tossing K Cups in the trash like it’s your job, we all know that it doesn’t have the best health effects over time.

Yup, we are addicted.  When Sara, Single Thread Boutique’s owner, said she made this small change, we were intrigued.  Cue the grocery shopping trip.

This small change can make a big difference in your life!  We all know how good water is for the bod.  It’s best to drink about 8 glasses a day.  But let’s be honest, it can taste downright bland.  Here are a few ideas to get you going!

The obvious additive is lemon.  This tart fruit adds just enough to your water to give it a kick, but its benefits are even better.  Think about all the good the vitamin C and citric acid is doing for your body’s immunity.

Another winner in our book is mint and strawberries!  Yup, it’s great.  It gives your glass a fresh and clean taste.  And here’s a hint, rather than waiting hours for the mint to infuse your drink, go ahead and crush up the leaves.  Instant satisfaction!  Not only will you look sophisticated drinking this colorful infused water, but you know you breath will be as cool as a cucumber…

And speaking of cucumbers, try this fun combo out!  Add in some sliced cucumber, a handful of blueberries, and some lemon.  We already know how good lemons can be for you, but these other two foods are just as great!  Blueberries are known for their crazy amount of antioxidants.  Cucumbers, since they are mostly made of water, help to keep you extra hydrated.  These are just a few benefits of these superfoods.

These simple additives boost your energy without all the caffeine from coffee.  It helps keep you feeling fuller longer.  You also won’t feel quite as bloated from all the soft drinks you may normally drink for your midday boost.

These amateur recipes are great to get you started on the flavored water trend.  Don’t be afraid to experiment with your favorite fruits!  Drinking water can be fun!
