Good morning ladies!

Here at Single Thread, we are kicking off summer with something new and exciting- a Lifestyle Blog! Don’t worry, fashion is still a main priority in our book, but we have decided to expand to bigger and better things. Not only will you get your dose of fashion tips and tricks, but we will also be posting about beauty, health, life, etc. Get excited ladies! We have a lot of great things headed your way!

To start off our new and improved blog, here are 3 beauty hacks that may or may not change your life.

Beauty Hack #1- Spray your bobby pin with hairspray for extra grip.

Yes, it’s true! If you spray your bobby pin with hairspray before you put it in your hair (and yes, the wavy side does indeed face downward. Don’t worry, I had been doing it wrong for years too), it will have a stronger grip on your hair. Any type of hairspray should work, but if you would rather be safe than sorry, try a spray that claims to have extra hold. An easy way to test this hack is by pinning your bangs to the side. If you’re feeling adventurous, try it when you are creating your perfect messy bun and you need to fix that one piece of hair that just won’t cooperate…  Two great products for this hack are Redken 23 or TRES Two Extra Hold Hair Spray.

Beauty Hack #2- Spray your eyeshadow brush with makeup brush cleaner for extra pigmentation.

Sometimes, you just want a little something extra to make your makeup pop, and what better way to do that than by adding some extra pizazz to your eyeshadow! This works perfectly for sparkly eyeshadow. Simply spray your clean brush with some makeup brush cleaner BEFORE you dip it into your eyeshadow, and then apply it how you normally would. For example, if you have brown eyes, use this trick with a gold, sparkly eyeshadow and watch your eyes pop! Here are two cleaners to try!

Beauty Hack #3- Use tape to create a dramatic eyeshadow look

Put tape on your face? What? Trust me, this works! Before you apply your foundation, tear off a piece of tape and place it along the outside corner of your eye in an upward direction. This will create a dramatic, precise line with your eyeshadow. Making such an intense line will create the illusion of your eyes being lifted up. So, if you have naturally down-turned eyes, this will make your eyes appear more lifted. An added bonus with this trick is that if you are on the struggle bus of creating the perfect winged liner (I happen to be the driver of said bus), this will help you create a more precise line.

If you happen to be bored one day, give these hacks a try. You may be surprised on how they turn out!
