Elise's May 2015 Monthly Favorites!
Posted on June 08 2015
It is now the beginning of June- a fresh start! Between finals, Memorial Day weekend, and everyone being done with school, May flew by and didn’t look back. So, in order to officially wrap up the spring season and welcome in summer, I am coming at you with some of my favorites from the past month. Enjoy!
My name is Elise, and I have a makeup addiction. It’s true! I love trying new products and experimenting with them. I mean seriously, who doesn’t love trying out new products?! Last month, there were two products that completely changed up my makeup routine that I think you need to know about.
Number 1: The Beauty Blender
I know this product has been out for a while, and to be honest, I saw no point in buying it at first. It’s a sponge… big deal. But, me being the addict that I am, I had to try it out for myself and see what the craze was about. I now understand. This sponge is different than any other sponge I have ever used- in a good way! It gives your makeup a more natural finish by slightly sheering out your makeup, but it still gives great coverage at the same time. At first, it took some getting used to (I usually use a makeup brush to apply my foundation), but it was 100% worth the buy! It’s a simple way to drastically change your makeup routine.
Number 2: IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream

This is by far my favorite foundation of all-time. First of all, this baby has an SPF of 50, which makes it the perfect foundation for summer! Second, this CC cream smells NOTHING like sunscreen (it actually has a refreshing citrus scent to it), and a bonus is that it does not make your skin oily. Lastly, the coverage is very buildable, so you can control how much coverage you want. Oh and get this, you can barely feel it on your face. This, my friends, is my Holy Grail beauty product.
Throughout the month of May, there was one hair product that drastically helped the health of my hair. Here it is:

Hair oils have been an up and coming trend this past year and for good reason. Oils help improve the strength, health, and overall condition of your hair. Moroccan Oil is known for not only conditioning hair, but it also strengthens it, improves the shine, and helps tame frizz. When applying any oil, you only apply it to the ends of your hair because if you apply it near your roots, it will make you oily/greasy. The best time to use an oil like this is when your hair is still wet because the hair will absorb the oil better. I have to admit, this product is kind of pricey (a small bottle is around $16), but, since you only use a pea-size amount, a small bottle can last you up to six months. Yes, I am 100% serious. Considering how long this product lasts and how much it helps your hair, it’s worth the buy! Your hair will thank me later.
As soon as school is out and summer begins, there is only one food that is one my mind… shaved ice!! To me, nothing screams summer more than shaved ice! The best place to go you ask? Well, that would have to be Roy Boy Shaved Ice!

Roy Boy is located in Evansville on the corner of Green River and Morgan and also in Newburgh in the parking lot of Showplace Cinemas. One of the best things about Roy Boy is that it’s inexpensive, so you don’t have to break the bank when you’re trying to think of something to do on a hot, summer day. A small shaved ice is $1… see what I mean? Roy Boy is locally owned, so grabbing some shaved ice is a great way to support our community! Oh and don’t worry, they have a plethora of flavors to choose from. You can visit their Facebook page (just type in Roy Boy Shaved Ice) for more information and for their hours.
I hope my May favorites inspired you to try something new, and leave comments down below if you try any of my favorites!
Have a wonderful week!
