The Best Healthy Hair Hacks!

Happy Monday ladies! I don’t know about you, but I feel like it is finally starting to feel like summer. In Evansville, we have had July-like weather (i.e. 90 degrees and 85% humidity), and you know what? It is WAY too hot to try and style our hair. Using a curling iron or a straight iron during this heat is just too much work and not worth the sweat. What does that have to do with today’s post? I’m so glad you asked! Today, I have 2 easy ways to make our hair more healthy, which will enable us to cut down our styling time because our hair is going to look gorgeous on its own!

Tip #1

Use a wide-toothed comb.

Don’t worry, I don’t mean you have to use one all the time (thick haired girls rejoice). Whenever you get out of the shower that is when you should be using a wide-toothed comb. When our hair is wet, that is when it is most prone to breakage and/or split ends. So, in order to prevent this from happening, using one of these combs will be gentler and decrease the amount of force used on knots. The best way to use a wide-toothed comb on your hair is by starting to comb from the ends of your hair and work your way up to the roots. It’s that simple! Over time, your hair will have less breakage and look healthier! Here are two, affordable options for wide-toothed combs:

Tip #2

Sleep on a satin pillowcase.

How does a pillowcase contribute to healthy hair? Well, good question. Whenever you sleep, especially if you toss and turn a lot, your hair becomes tangled, slept on, and just a hot mess. When this happens, you get knots and tangles in your hair, which causes damage. Then, you have to try and brush it out which causes even more damage! So, by sleeping on a satin pillowcase, you prevent a lot of damage as opposed to a regular pillowcase because satin is extremely smooth. Oh, and get this, sleeping on satin is better for you skin too because it helps prevent wrinkles.  It’s amazing what a pillowcase can do! Here are two options for satin pillowcases:
