Innovative Ways to Display Your Favorite Clothes - Guest Blogger

Caitlin here.  When I got an email from Modernize I may have let out a little sequel.  If there is anything that I like as much as clothes, it's home stuff.  I constantly have a project going on around the house.  (Guilty even now.  We're currently landscaping the back of the house.)  Modernize is where you go to get inspired, see what's possible, and connect with a professional who will make your dream home a reality.

So they wrote an article perfectly mixed with our two favorite things: clothing and home decor.  Shoutout to Hannah West for the following fabulous ideas below!

Maybe you just love a new outfit and want to incorporate it into your bedroom decor. Or maybe you don’t have much closet space and need to start getting creative. No matter what your motives are, you can find tasteful, coherent, and most importantly, convenient ways to show off your wardrobe.

On top of being a vintage-chic way to display your favorite clothing item, a dress form or two can help you decide what to wear and how to accessorize for the day. Even though it can be an appealing stand-alone decoration, make good use of your dress form by hanging your favorite dress as a sentimental decoration or loading up all of your necklaces to save storage space.

If you have limited closet space--or simply too many clothes--shelving may be your solution. Having your whole wardrobe out in your room will inspire you to stay organized, and will also help you find what you need without standing on tiptoes or hunting through the corners of your closet. Hang a curtain in front of your wall closet so that when it gets a little out of sorts you can hide it until there’s time to reorganize.

Staging Area

This is another great opportunity for turning a lack of closet space into a decorative feature! Making your own staging room works both for people with limited space and those who have a whole extra room to devote to their wardrobe. You can set up a staging area in the corner of your room with just the essentials: a floor-length mirror, a makeup desk, good lighting, and a clothes rack. Or you can go all out with comfy cushions and a full-on shoe display.

If you aren’t lacking in space and want to display your clothes purely for the drama, you can afford to get creative with the materials you use and any playful pops of color you want. For a truly enchanting room display, use a tree branch or an old wrought iron headboard. For an extra-coordinated look, arrange your clothes by color. Nothing will make you feel ready for the day ahead like seeing your best wardrobe possibilities right in front of you when you wake up!

It's Caitlin, again!  I know we all need new storage solutions, so this article is perfect for all of us.  Special thanks to our guest blogger Hannah West!  If you want more design ideas and other inspiration, head to Modernize.com.  Also check out them out on Twitter @remodeling or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/modernizehome
