Single Thread Boutique launched in Huntingburg, IN in 2012, and in the heart of owner Sara Kamman years early.
When Sara left Indiana for New York to pursue a career in fashion, after graduating from Indiana University of Bloomington, she left her roots behind in the historic communities of Southern Indiana. While working for alice + olivia and then Sequin in coordination with Kohl’s in both operations and fashion departments, Sara learned the finer points of what’s in and what’s out.
As she popped into local boutiques in the big city, she savored the uniquely urban feel. There was something distinct about those shops that linked shoppers back to the essence of their community. Sara wanted to bring that sense of connection back home.
Returning to Southern Indiana, Sara opened Single Thread Boutique to give women affordable options for trendy clothing and accessories. Her vision was a chic, casual store where shoppers could find new items every time they came in.
With great prices, everything under $100, Single Thread Boutique invites shoppers to come in and pick up a Single piece or two, as the name implies. The shops hearken back to the days when she and her sisters would raid each other’s closets for the perfect item to finish an outfit for a date or a night out. Customers know that when they stop in, they will find something new.
The Thread that runs through both the name and the atmosphere of the shops is community. When we talk about shopping local, it’s more than a marketing slogan. Our connection to our community is more than just coincidental. We are Hoosiers by birth AND by choice – and many of our items reflect that.
Singe Thread now has 3 brick and mortar locations: Huntingburg, IN, Evansville, IN, and Owensboro, KY. Our e-commerce site launched in early 2014.
Looking Good and Feeling Good, it all starts with a Single Thread.
